What comes after Kit's movie?

I was just wondering if anyone knows what (if anything) is going to come after Kit's movie next year. I know Julia Roberts bought the rights to Samantha, Felicity, and Kit. Did she buy any others? Is she planning too?

I suppose Samantha, Kit, and Felicity's stories are the easiest to change into movies because girls identify with them the most. But I hope Kirsten, Josefina, Kaya, and Addy get their time in the limelight as well. Even if Julia Roberts doesn't do it, I hope someone else will pick up the ball and continue with AG movies.

I think Molly is most likely next because people on here who went to a Valerie Tripp book signing were told she is going to write a book about Emily.

Molly is going to be the next movie after Kit. I recently got a letter from Valerie Tripp. And she said she currently writing Molly's book. And she said it is a lot of fun. I need to find the letter she wrote me and I'll type it here for you all.

If Molly is the next movie why did they retire one of her dresses? You would think they would be adding to the collection. Guess I should read all of Molly's books.

I would love a Josefina movie. I just love her story. It is sad that she has lost her mother but the love the family shares is so special. The worse thing that happens is the flood that takes the sheep.

Poor Kit, her dad looses his job and can't find one. I really felt sad for his not being able to take care of his family. The Mother kind of takes over. I would guess the whole train/jail adventure would be great.

I'm curious to see how many movies AG is going to make about the Historical dolls. I don't think they'll make a movie for every doll- then there would be 16 dolls in the American Girls Collection.

I think if they are as profitable as the Samantha movie was, then they just might! Wouldn't that be great? I mean, the movie pretty much launched Nellie as a very popular doll. It must have been a huge success for them to go ahead with a Molly movie in the works before they even saw if Felicity's movie did well (and I'm sure it will). I hope each historical girl will have a movie and a best friend doll.

So Molly's next? That's really exciting! It'll be fun to have a "British" doll. I have several friends in England who love AG dolls, so that will be fun for them! [img]smile.gif[/img]

With Emily however, AG will have lots of dolls with bobs and short, blondish hair. As I recall, Emily's hair is more strawberry-blonde than red - right? I would imagine her as a cross between Kit and Nellie.

I sure hope they'll make movies for all the dolls, and dolls to go with them. AG will have a ton of historical dolls, but there's no telling how long they'll keep Nellie and Elizabeth. They might discontinue the old ones as they progress so they're not overflowing.

It would be so interesting to see which friend Kirsten and Kaya will get. Kirsten it would seem would get Singing Bird, but she'll be very similar to Kaya. So it's possible it could be Lisbeth or Anna. And Kaya would get Speaking Rain, but again, she'll be very similar to Kaya and Singing Bird. But Kaya doesn't really have any other friends other than Two Hawks, and I can't imagine AG making a boy doll.

Spring 2005 catalogue "lists" the girls' best friends

Molly- Emily
Kit- Ruthie
Samantha- Nellie
Addy- Sarah
Kirsten- Singing Bird
Josefina- Mariana
Kaya- Speaking Rain

Felicity is not listed, as she wasn't in the catalogue. However, we all know that's Elizabeth.

I have to wonder if they might change Kirsten's Best Friend to be one of her cousins. Kaya, apparently, doesn't sell well. I can see them not liking the idea of having 3 Native Americans in the collection; perhaps none of them will sell well?

I'm really excited for both Ruthie and Emily. I don't think I'd buy any of the others.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">My guess is that they would leave Kirsten's as Singing Bird, and that they just exclude Kaya since the friend dolls sell well based of the sucess of the main doll. Why make a friend if the first one doesn't sell?
